Biography[]

Michael is the son of the deceased, Carolyn Polhemus.

Appearances[]

Bases Loaded[]

Michael is seen attending his mother Carolyn's memorial alongside his father Dalton. Eventually, when Rusty visits his household, Michael exchanges a few words with him, and Dalton informs Rusty that he's angry at him, his mother Carolyn, and the world.

Discovery[]

The unknown person who had contacted Rusty about seeing him on the night of Carolyn's murder was Michael. He instructs Rusty to meet him at a silos, and he confronts Rusty over the situation surrounding his mother's death. As it stands, Michael reveals that he had given all of the pictures he took of that night to the DA's office, and it's talked about in a conversation between Raymond and Rusty. He's further mentioned in the pre-trial hearing when Raymond brings up the possibility of a third-party conspirator.

The Burden[]

Michael and his father, Dalton, visit the DA's office, where Tommy questions Michael about the pictures he's taken of his mother's house the night of her mother. He also states that he knows Rusty is the killer, as when Michael had lunch with his mother, she claimed that she was angry with someone she had cases with.

The Elements[]

Despite his father petitioning to refuse him having to testify in court, Judge Lyttle dismissed it. The next day, Michael testified to the court about what he witnessed on the night of the murder. He goes on to confirm the video he recorded, as well as the timestamp on it. Things become contentious when Michael testified that it was his thought and not his impression that Rusty killed his mother, Carolyn.

Before Raymond could properly cross-examine Michael, he had a heart attack.

The Witness[]

Michael's dad, Dalton, was upset that Michael had to testify and now was going to be cross-examined by Rusty.

The next day, Michael is cross-examined by Rusty, who tries to give his condolences to Michael, but he blurts out that he killed his mother. From there, Michael is questioned by Rusty about his actions on the night of the murder, his recording, and the text messages he sent his mother. It's from this that Rusty tries to establish a plausible connection that Michael or Dalton may have killed Carolyn.

The Verdict[]

Michael is seen in the courtroom, where he and his father attend every case leading up to Rusty's acquittal. They are seen eating Chinese food while watching a newscast in which Rusty talks to the press about being acquitted of murder.
